Sketches and Writing Out Concepts
Developed concepts and sketches from exploring with wordlists and mind maps. Chose ones I was darwn to and added more detail to present to class mates. My classmates
and I appealed to the hand drawn quality.
THE PROCESS
Final Sketch
Scanned the final sketch in the computer and erased the eyes in the drone. I copied and multiplied the other drone to keep consistency and manipulated it. In the final it looks like the drones are coming out of the eye.
Top Three Concepts
Eyes Watching
For this layout I would hand draw eyes across the layout, one big eye on front page (Person has vision, or is a reflection). The image in the eye would be of a drone, or show a scene of chaos happening. This eye would hold the emotion of being scared. Other eyes on the spread could be the government (holding the emotion of being corrupt).
Abstract
The abstract pattern designs would resemble the government and citizens. Most likely the government would be reflected as drones. The people would look half designed because parts of them are missing. People who are being overtaken and scared for their lives don’t have time to worry about their past hobbies. They would be focused on surviving in this future world.
City Shield
Idea of a city, maybe a small town ran by citizens and not the government. This city would be protected by the drone shield, while chaos is happening outside. The chaos could take after a city that isn’t protected by the shield.
Computer Revisions
The first set of spreads was importing the images, and
exploring with the layout. I wasn't paying attention to text at
this time and the spreads were quite rough. After receiving feedback from classmates I got new inspiration and ideas to further my designs.
I wanted the eye to fill up the entire first page to appear more dramatic. Instead of the second set of eyes representing the government, I decided to have them reflect a different citizen. The three set of eyes shows the drone getting closer and
closer to the citizen. Another revision I made was getting rid
of the ugly red box, and removing the unnecessary elements
to make it simpler.
Final
In the final version I had the drones bleed off the side of the spread. I care for this effect because the drones appear to be flying out to the viewer.

Took the title of the article and made a mind map. I wrote down what came to my mind.
